KOT printing

Automatic KOT printing that just works.

Kitchen order tickets that print themselves the moment an order is placed — to the right station, every time. No handwritten chits, no orders lost on the way to the kitchen.

What is a KOT, and why automate it?

A KOT — kitchen order ticket — tells the kitchen what to cook. Done by hand it is slow and easy to lose; automated, it prints the instant the order is placed, so food starts sooner and mistakes drop.

Right order, right station

Each item goes to the station that makes it — food to the kitchen, drinks to the bar — so every counter only sees its own work. Cancel an item and a void slip prints automatically, so nothing gets plated by mistake.

  • Tickets print the moment an order is placed
  • Items routed to the correct kitchen or bar station
  • Void slips printed automatically on cancellation
  • Works over Wi-Fi or USB via the TableSathi print agent

Simple to set up

Pair a supported thermal printer through the TableSathi print agent and you are printing — no complex wiring, no dedicated POS hardware. Bills print the same way, so the counter and kitchen both run on their own.

Prefer a screen? There’s a kitchen display too

Not every kitchen wants paper. TableSathi also has a kitchen display: new tickets appear on a screen, sorted by table and time, and the kitchen bumps each one when it is plated — so the floor sees “ready” at once. Use printed KOTs, the on-screen display, or both together, whichever suits how your kitchen actually works.

Questions

Common questions.

What printers does TableSathi support?+

TableSathi works with standard thermal receipt printers connected over Wi-Fi or USB, paired through the TableSathi print agent — the small helper that links your printers to the system. You do not need a special POS terminal: a browser-only setup works first so you can learn the flow, and you add the printer when you want kitchen tickets and bills to print on their own. If you already own a thermal printer for billing, the same one can handle kitchen tickets, or you can run a separate printer at each station. Contact the team if you are unsure whether a specific printer model will work.

Can I print to more than one station?+

Yes. TableSathi routes each item to the station that should make it — food to the kitchen printer, drinks to the bar — so every counter prints only the part of the order it is responsible for. This keeps the kitchen ticket clean and stops the bar wading through food items it does not need. You set up one printer per station through the print agent, and from then on the routing happens automatically every time an order is sent, no matter which device the waiter used to take it.

What happens when an order is cancelled?+

When a waiter cancels an item that has already been sent, a void slip prints automatically at the relevant station so the kitchen knows to stop preparing it. This prevents the most common and expensive mistake in a busy kitchen — plating food that nobody will pay for because the change never made it back from the floor. The cancellation is also recorded against the order, so the void shows up in your records and on the bill, keeping the kitchen and the counter in agreement about what was actually made and charged.
